The Photographer's Playbook

It's a truism that we are always learning. But we don't always seek out learning experiences. As a professional photographer we should seek out new challenges or our images will become stale and repetitive. If you have 'photographers block' then The Photographers Playbook will provide an instant remedy. It contains 307 'assignments', from the weird to the wonderful. And if - like me - you would rather be out taking pictures than sitting at your desk editing or pushing up your Google ranking then choose an assignment, get off your chair and get shooting!

So here goes.

#Parameters 'The greatest freedom is to have no choice. Confining yourself to certain parameters can actually lead to discovery of a universe of subject matter that is hard to find when you tend to wander endlessly'. The Photographer's Playbook (2014), Fulford and Halpern, p5. Aperture Foundation, New York.

I live on Wayland Road. Not a very attractive street. Perfect. Every day for two weeks I will take a picture of something or someone I know, meet or approach on the street. I'll start tomorrow. Well, I'm busy today.
